Household and Members

A Household is the family unit that owns one shared plan. It holds all Plan Items, Occurrences, Holdings, Snapshots, and Hard rules. It has one time zone.

A Member is one person in a Household with a sign-in of their own. Every Holding and every Plan Item belongs to exactly one Member.

Everyone sees everything

All Members see all data of the Household. All Members can edit all data. Kosh has no per-field permissions.

When two Members edit the same Plan Item at the same time, the last save wins. Kosh shows the newer value on refresh.

Two roles

RoleCan do
OwnerEverything a Member can do. Also creates the Household, invites Members, and removes Members.
MemberAdds and edits Plan Items, Holdings, and Snapshots. Marks Occurrences done.

The Owner is the Member who created the Household. A person belongs to one Household in this version.

Who marked it done

When a Member marks an Occurrence done, Kosh records the Member and the time.

Family view

The Family view adds up the Holdings and Plan Items of all Members on one screen. See Holdings and Snapshots.

Kosh is a tracker, not an adviser. It gives no investment advice.
