Imports and privacy
Privacy
Who can see the data
Only the Members of a Household see its data. A removed Member loses access at the next request.
What Kosh stores
- The email address of each Member, for sign-in.
- The data that Members type, or save from an Import: Plan Items, Occurrences, Holdings, Snapshots, Hard rules, and Cover.
- Which Member marked an Occurrence done, and when.
What Kosh never stores
- The statement file of an Import.
- The password of a statement file.
Kosh does not store them when an Import works. It does not store them when an Import fails.
How Imports read statements
Kosh reads a CAS PDF with fixed rules on its own server. Kosh reads the other four Import types with an AI model. Kosh shows a preview, and it changes no data until a Member applies the Import. See Imports.
On the phone
- The app keeps a local copy of the Household data on each iPhone. It shows this copy with its age when the phone is offline. It blocks edits until the phone is online again.
- Notifications are local. The app schedules them on each iPhone.
Where the data lives
The Kosh service runs on Cloudflare. The app and the service talk over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
Not an adviser
Kosh gives no investment advice. It shows numbers from the plan that the Members enter.
